Helping employees plan
Yes, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, is home to the world’s most famous groundhog, but it’s also the home of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital. The next-nearest hospital is a half-hour away and Pittsburgh is 90 minutes to the southeast. That makes the continued growth and success of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital a high priority for its staff and area residents alike.
The hospital first turned to Ameritas for help with employee retirement planning in 1972. For more than 36 years, that relationship has been managed by financial professional Jim Curtis, who also provides individual financial planning services for many of the hospital’s close-knit family of about 400 employees.
According to Jim, a relationship that’s lasted this long is almost unheard of in this industry, and he knows what’s behind it. “Ameritas is like an extension of the hospital. Our culture and values are aligned. We’re very responsive and have earned the hospital’s trust, year after year. We’ve been fortunate to have a loyal client who realizes just how many things go into making it all work.”
Full-time emergency physician Clark Simpson explains, “If something happened to me tomorrow, my family would be taken care of and able to move forward. And in retirement, I’ll be able to do all those things I didn’t have time for when I was working because I’ll be where I need to be financially.”
Ameritas is proud to be in the business of fulfilling life.
